Hi Neil, when are you planning your trip to Pembrokeshire?....If you fancy, I can try and get down and meet up for a day.

A bit of advice if you are planning a trip to Ramsey. Get up early for the boat...There is only a limited amount of spaces and only three trips over a day, if you are at the wrong end of the queue, you don't go and it's a waste of a good couple of hours.

Yes it was well worth the journey for the company alone - shame about the ospreys - I was thinking of going back in July when the young are fledged but looking at the calendar it doesn't seem possible!

Afternoon Neil,

I believe this image is yours - rove or ground beetle larva on Flickr - Photo Sharing! - did you get an answer in the end?

If not - it's a Carabid larva. Staphylinids have one tarsal claw, and Carabids' two as it seems to have in your image. A nice tip for separating these common under-log/decking-type insects that I picked up from the 'Net today!
