Sorry to hear you're under the weather - not nice even if it is only 'man-flu' (sorry couldn't resist!!!) Cheer up - you will improve quickly once the new lens arrives - you will have to so that you can go out and try it - and fresh air is good for germs!!!! Have fun and hope you feel better soon xx

Hi Pauline, them thar Bittern photos, amazing you and Ian should be well chuffed with yourselves.
Well after our conservation (I think it was two summers ago now) I've just ordered myself the Sigma 10-20.
I'm ill in bed at the moment (that's actually an understatement, I'm actually at deaths door but don't like to make a fuss) with a cold and thought 'stuff it' I'll order that lens to cheer me up. I'm waiting for it to arrive today!
Hey I hope that you and all your clan up there are well, see you on the boards
Best wishes x

Yeh, I don't think you can stay loyal to a make in the compacts, it's more to do with the model. Funny though as the S95 has had such good reviews, I quite like (blurb and look) the older S90.
My stepson reckons if a camera looks good then it is! I WILL get it into his head, it's all to do with the final image. I bought my daughter a Canon powershot A480 new from Argos last year on offer at around £70. The camera is quite chunky, plasticy and looks just like a toy but the image qulaity is amazing for a camera <£100. That's on Which Camera magazine recommendations, brilliant.

I can't remember now which one at the time I was compairing with! I assume both a lumix and the canon came up side by side and I went off their recommendation and chose the canon ...... wrong ......
-
Hey just out of interest which Lumix would you have gone for?
I'm sitting here with my stepson looking at compacts as he wants one.
-
Aye to the heaven on earth - will know when I make landfall there in a weeks time if all goes well ...... fingers crossed and all that!
-
Aah Benbecula, St Kilda......... heaven on Earth maybe?
You watching Springwatch Pauline? I don't know but watching it a bit later than the live broadcast is not the same, I must try harder to get my jobs done and watch it live. Hope all is well

Hi Lee between you and Dennis you're beating me hands down with the coffee! I usually have a carafe first thing which is three mugs but often one gets poured away - the rest of the day its tea. Buddhist eh? Its always interested me as a belief system. What I meant was only this way once in this form with these savings and this partner - what comes after may be nothing or completely different beyond comprehension - but while I'm sure of the here and now (relatively speaking) then I'm going for it how it is now!!! Oh dear look at the time - I should be in Asda with my head on straight - its off to the Priory WAter Meet in the morning so I have to pack and organise the car - its no different 1 night away or two weeks I still need certain things with me - I don't think I will ever be the person who packs a bag with a toothbrush and a spare pair of knickers and sets off 20 mins later!!! TAke care Lee - hope the weather improves this weekend for everyone - have a good 'un. P xx

Hey Pauline, you made me smile with your post(s) to me and two occasions :-)
The tea and coffee drinking was the first, I counted up how many cups I have had today and the total is 13 and this has been a working day an all, shocking!!! This is probably my average daily intake, so must do better (ie, not drink this amount of caffeine). In my defence I don't drink alcahol.
The second thing you'd written that made me smile was " I shall only pass by here once". You're talking to a Buddhist!
Hence that's why I haven't been able to reply to you any sooner as I have been away all weekend on a Buddhist course.
I'm hoping to get out this weekend with the camera a bit and put something in the galleries, jsut hope it's going to be a calm one, unlike the hooley it's been blowing today.
I hope all is well with and the rest of your clan, keep up the galivanting to make sure it's a 'well earned' rest at the end of this season, ready for next year ;-)
Be in touch

I've never met anyone who would have a brew more than me - perhaps thats why I'm getting tired - its not old age - I'm not drinking enough coffee - jitter jiggle!!!! And yes fuel is a huge drain on money now - just my luck to get a decent car at long last and its costs this much to run - but its not stopping me - I shall only pass by here once as far as we know - I've waited and been a good girl now its my time! All it means is my savings will be gone sooner - simple as that and if I die first I shall leave a younger husband a widower who will also be a pauper - at least his next wife won;t be after his money!!!!
