Good day then... Do you send your records to the Wiltshire Environmental Records Office? I'm sure they would love to receive your records. I send all my stuff to the Dorset equivalent in Dorchester. The records can then be used by researchers and other students looking at flora/fauna in Wiltshire in the future. Just a thought...
My Dad was born in Pewsey. I have driven over it (the down... not my dad!) but never stopped (unfortunately). Hope you had a great time and managed to see some "other" fauna!
Oh dear there's another one to add to my list :) That looks really great - and a good place for my little sisters to run around as well!! (I'm limited to where I can go because of them or how long we can stay :()
Sounds like you are going to be busy! I haven't been to any on your list... good luck! If you want to know about orchids at Badbury Rings have a look at Images of Dorset - Orchids at Badbury Rings
Hey, thanks for the friend request!! I did know about Plantlife in Salisbury, in fact I walk past their HQ every day on my way to school :) I'll ask about Badbury rings for next summer although I have a whole list of places to go already - Noar hill, hawkley warren, chappetts copse, galley down wood etc etc - been to any of those? :) Other than gtr butterflys what other orchids are there?
Hey thanks!! Yeah im 7 miles outside Salisbury. I live right next to Bentley Wood (dont know if youve heard of it but its very good (famous for purple emps)) and spend a lot of time in there. I havent explored around stonehenge or the river in the woodford valley but I'll have a look when I've got time (and transport) so thanks!! Do you remember anywhere good for helleborines by any chance? I found the green-flowered helleborines at Langford Lakes and broad-leaved ones at B.Wood but anywhere else? Thanks
