Hi Jeff,
Oddly enough, I've recently been researching the possible persistence of Frog Orchids in Shropshire. There were, up until about 1998, 2 or 3 fairly regular sites for the species. The strongest population was apparently at Craig Sychtyn near Oswestry (a tiny area of limestone grassland and woodland). There were also erratic records from Wenlock Edge and Lynclys Common but no really strong colonies. Anyway, after speaking to and corresponding via email with a woman from the Shropshire Wildlife Trust, it turns out the species hasn't been seen for about a decade due to shading out of the grassland at Craig Sychtyn. It's a real shame. The nearest place for you now is probably Derbyshire where there are a few colonies. Have a look at this>>
