Good grief - are you wearing sunglasses indoors now?! I was getting in touch to see if you were ok - but I can see you're online so you must be ok! I heard on The Bay radio earlier today that a chap had been killed on the A590 just above Lindale ..... I couldn't see what you would be doing walking up there but then again you might and so I began to worry ............ we've been up to the van to see to the bird table and I had a spell in the pop-up hide this aft as the sun came round onto the pitch - got some nice nuthatches. I've got wab on the blocked senders list at the min - it would take too long to opt out of all the threads I've stuck my beak into so blocking was the fastest way to not see interesting looking threads appearing in the email!! I've begun the heart rending job of emptying mam's house and I need to drive myself to do it and not get conveniently side-tracked by my wabby addiction!!!

S'ok glad to hear that you're alright - I remember you live up an incline but began to worry when the village got mentioned. Also heard about the missing police officer - that's heartbreaking if he/she has lost their life whilst doing their job trying to save other folk - its sounding very grave even allowing for the usual news hype. Take care.

We have experienced heavy rain for the last three days and although the sun shines as I write this on Friday morning, bad news is breaking about the aftermath. South Lakes has many closed roads making it difficult to get around. We’re not so bad here but look out over fields covered in water. If you log on to BBC Radio Cumbria or Lakeland FM you will be able to see images of the situation.
There’s a policeman lost in Workington and two bridges have been washed away in the northwest of the county. Much of the damage around Kendal is to developments on the River Kent’s flood plain unfortunately.
I might pop down to Newby Bridge later and have a look at the River Leven as it leaves Windermere. I’ll post an image or two if poss. Thanks for your message and concern. Apologies – this is a blanket message to all.

I too have been listening and watching the weather warnings and today the A590 at Lindale is mentioned as is the A6 at Levens: Keep safe John - take care if you're driving esp in the dark ........ wonder if our caravan has floated off?? Pauline
