Arrived at the sailing school beneath the big bridge on 12th Dec in darkness and was amazed to see a blackbird singing its heart out from a rooftop. Night navigation for my Offshore skippers commercial endorsement. Course was excellent but the tutor was a bit of a xexexexexexe. I can't remember the river - Chandlers Creek - that's not it but something similar up to Buckles Hard, was great fun at night.

Was it one those boat courses that trained you in a fancy Rib to pick someone up from the water,when you'd most likely only have a leaky rowing boat to hand!
Those Brent Geese may even try to jam your outboard en masse(..erm..a joke)making for a tricky days boating.I'm guessing with the geese around it wasn't the warmest time of year,and this will also lead to an in poor taste, boat and goose bumps gag..erm,but not by me.:O

I have to admit my knowledge of your area is scant. I was in Southampton a few years ago on a weeks boat course with work and that's about it. My only wildlife recollection was discussing the rafts of Brent Geese with the examiner!
