Hi Woodman, do you come from near Seascale then? Generations of my Dad's family came from near there - it's a lovely place if you do. Apart from the radiation that is, LOL
Airfix are still around! Still making model warplanes etc., but now with a line of more modern line of TV warships/vehicles that would be more familiar to children.
Hi Woodman, thanks for the comment on the morning shot,I saw the walker coming over the ridge and just thought I would include him to give a point of interest to that side of the photo. Must admit glad I did it :)
best wishes,ellen
Are you insulting me Woodman? 'Cos if you are, I'll have to warn you, it takes a lot more than cryptic messages that I don't understand to get me riled. LOL :-)
Hello Woodman, thanks for comment on the woodmouse photo. The little fellow regularly appears in the morning waiting for me to fill the bird feeders! Was determined to get a shot of it this morning!!

Hello - what a coincidence, I have just pm'ed you about an ID!
Yes we have Roe and fallow deer in the NP, I saw a lovely male Roe last week on his own. I have been getting out a bit recently the weather has warmed up. I had a bit of a fright in January, it was -8 and I hadn't been out too long and I was on my own as usual and I couldn't feel my fingers or keep my camera still so I thought I would come home. Then I started to feel so sick and my vision kept going dark, how I rode my bike home I don't know. It took me ages to get in the house as i couldn't manipulate my fingers to get the key. I had to lay down for an hour where I dropped once I got in and the pain in my fingers as they started to thaw out was awful. I had 2 pairs of gloves on. Anyway since then, I have been waiting for it to get above zero, and have only got out a few times for various reasons. I am hoping tomorrow or Tuesday will be OK, there is some fungi I want to check on and with some luck I will see deer again or the Konick horses. once the leaves are on the tree the chance of seeing the deer will dimish hugely. There is also a Buzzard I have been trying to get a decent picture of for months.
Hope you roebuck stays around!
Shirley
