If your in this neck of the woods I'll introduce you to my two favourite establishments The Sun and Nellies (The White Horse) named after Nellie Collinson the last member the family who ran the pub for several generations. Your Flossy Lane sounds a lot like our Miss Nellie, when she died about 30 years ago they modernised the pub by putting in a counter in place of the old kitchen table that had served the purpose before. Otherwise the place has kept its old character it still has gas lighting and the original cast iron open ranges in four of the rooms, gets a bit steamy on wet winter nights with all the fires blazing away.

The Sun Inn is also an old establishment with character but with the added benefit of being a free house so are able to offer a wide range of Guest Ales, and of course the live music.

Dave, I remember you saying you have a pub called the Sun Inn! Well, it seems my friend, my group of die-hards have saved 'my Sun Inn' from destruction, or worse (Witherspoons) A village I have relations in had one of the few remaining 'parlour pubs'. The old girl died (oldest landlord in Britain) and the pub was looking at horrendous futures. We get to keep it as a pub, the only change will be a new cash register instead of bowls for the money! Ain't that something! I know you are a distance away but maybe one day you'd be in God's REAL Country, Hereford and close by and just might be on the off chance possibly be a tad thirsty! Gawn, if you're like me you were born thirsty!.
