If you go to Zakynthos in August you will see them as that's when the females lay their eggs..
Greece is the only European country where the logger headed turtles (Caretta, Caretta) nest and Zante is the most important nesting area in the Mediterranean. The national marine park of Zante objective is to preserve the natural environment....

Best not hijack the thread..
Yes, it was an experience but the Turtle was gone really quick we got a few pics but they are worse than that one...
They were coming in to land to breed and lay their eggs the beech in that part was sectioned off to allow them peace and quiet.
WAB should have a section on your pics from the world lol..
The pics have been sitting on my computer for ages its nice to share them..
