- 26-02-2009 12:03 AM - permalinkHedge WitchHi Stinky, are you taking those leylandii out? Also, which way does your garden face?
Mrs S is NOT to use a spade! You are a BAD, BAD MAN!!! - 22-02-2009 04:42 PM - permalinkHedge WitchYep, all good fun, beware you don't get too addicted ;-)
- 21-02-2009 08:08 PM - permalinkHedge WitchHey, S, I'm proud of you. I hope you get nesters this year, but it can take a while. x
- 21-02-2009 10:33 AM - permalinkHedge WitchThey are quick, that might be why.
Wow, your feeder looks terrific. I'll wait and see what others say, but I can't see much wrong with that ;-) - 21-02-2009 09:42 AM - permalinkHedge WitchYes, there are - I was out gardening with "my robin" a couple of years ago, and WHOOOSH, all of a sudden he/she was gone in a flash of a feathers - a Sparrowhawk's supper. So if they are around our area, they are in yours, to be sure. But they only take a small % of the population, not something you see a lot of.
Why? - 21-02-2009 08:23 AM - permalinkHedge WitchHi Stinky, well, our feeder came with instructions to put in nearer cover rather than further away, but to be honest, I think it might depend on the height of the feeder. Birds will dive for cover of a Sparrowhawk threatens (in this case, the closer the better) but a ground feeder next to a bush where a cat is waiting in ambush would be a definite no-no. I'd start a new thread on the subject, or re-open an old thread if it has been discussed before ;-)
You are so lucky already with the number of spp. on your feeder - it's because of where you live I think - lucky, lucky you :-) - 21-02-2009 08:01 AM - permalinkHedge WitchThe thing to remember about the first point is that the site is viewed by children of all ages. Swearing and innuendo are strictly forbidden. As a responsible (?? LOL) dad you know better than I why this would be necessary ;)

Nope, I would strongly recommend you do not post Great Tit jokes, except privately!
