I'm all stocked up again, the red wine supplies had got down to a dangerously low level but that's OK now. Luckily the Centre has huge freezers with plenty of food in as well so we should (there's about fifteen of us live up here) all be OK. Yesterdays snow drifted badly in the wind overnight so it's back to square one again - it's like a reverse game of snakes and ladders, us trying to use the ladders to get down the hill and the snow snake filling all the roads up again. I think this time we're not alone it looks like most people will face some chaos over the next few days. Keep warm - Rob

We got it overnight as predicted 6-8 inches which is almost unheard of round here! I've watched quite a few folk try to get off their drives and give up and there's not much point in shovelling till its finished which with the colour of the sky isn't yet! Hope you bought enough food and milk etc to hole up again for another week!

I managed to get down into Settle for the first time in a week yesterday. We had a snow blower and a snow plough come through clearing the road at last and by now it will be blocked again with fresh snow so will probably have to wait another week for the road to be cleared once again!

Oh thats a shame! But no - not tonight - or I might have to phone the centre to see if anyone had been to dig you out!!!! I enjoyed the snow at first but I've had enough of it now - esp if we do get the forecast 6 inches tomorrow - its going to be difficult getting to mam and her appointments - and I don't want to walk even tho its only a couple of miles - the pavements are horrendous - I'm notoriously bad on my feet and excellent at falling or slipping!!
-
No - someone else from the Centre had had the same idea and got in there first! It's still standing so might still give it a try but not tonight with more bucket-loads of snow forecast.
-
Well did you? I'm all agog - are the staff digging you out as I write? Did it collapse in on you? Did you chicken out and go home to a warm bed and a warm wife? Oh I wish I was nearer - I would have done it ......... we've had snow before xmas but not in enough amounts to build an igloo!
-
Go on Rob - get out that sleeping bag and give it a go tonight in the igloo!!! Yipeeeee! If I was nearer and had a 'landy' I'd be on my way equiped with my best bag and kit!!!!
