You should start a thread as if there was one it would have been a very long time ago and I don't there was one. - 22-08-2011 04:15 PM - permalinkBillabong KarenYes, scuba diving has opened up a whole new wonderful world for me, it truly is like being inside a huge tropical aquarium. Just fab. Dolphins and large pineal glands, well well, i never knew that, though I had heard before that they are not always the sweet gentle creatures that we believe them to be... Have often thought that we hear stories about dolphins gently guiding distressed swimmers back to shore - wonder why we never hear of any stories of them gently guiding swimmers far out to sea...??? Possibly because the swimmers never made it back to shore!! :)
- Get you doing scuba diving! Cool! What a lovely experience that must have been.. I think it's dolphins that have proportionately large pineal glands..if that is true, maybe that accounts for some of their 'behavior' with humans..I wouldn't dare put that in a thread, 'cos you can imagine what that would end up like..eek! 'Stupid woman!' HeyHo..
ps..I just said 'stupid woman' and here it is on my own page..! - 22-08-2011 01:05 PM - permalinkBillabong KarenAm just laughing at the thought of my dogs in the wild... Yes, their lifespan would be VERY short, about 20 minutes I would guess!!! :) I saw the whales and dolphins program too, very cool I thought... I took up scuba diving last year and have seen dolphins several times from the dive boat - twice large pods of spinner dolphins, and once a group of really huge black dolphins called False Killer Whales. They were AMAZING, so graceful. Completely mesmerising.
Yes, what a shame I dont live closer. I work in Germany but spend my holidays in the South of England, either in Sussex with my parents or else in Wiltshire with my partner, so not really close to you... Shame as I would LOVE to see your amazing-sounding pond! - Hi P,
been out taking shots, have a look here...Flickr: Elaine2403's Photostream
Its been really hot here today so we went to the local country park with a picnic and the camera..

Tried to answer your question re my dogs, but seem only to have posted to my own page! Sorry, was not meaning to be rude!
- 16-08-2011 08:35 AM - permalinkBillabong KarenHi Posie, the photo was taken in Horsham, Sussex. There was a big bird of prey centre there; but I think they have closed now (the photo was taken a couple of years ago). Is that your dog on your photo? Very sweet... :) Karen
- Oops sorry..not got round to deleting them yet..hang on, will clear them now..
- Yes I understand where you were coming from in sending the wabber a skull and yes it is good it didn't die in vain but the thought of it going through the post amused me..I am sick..
On the slow worm and grass snake front I would be glad of either..xx
