Ah good I'm glad I managed to answer in time - hope this weather continues for you - tho when I took those last ones it was dreadfully windy and stormy - thunderstorms every afternoon - and what a scary place it is under a brolly in a storm - which is exactly what happened!

Hey Polly, I am so glad you saw one! :)

And yes, I was lucky too. I went up to Southwater last Monday and was fortunate to see a few, but only a fleeting glimpse or else high up in the trees. I am still hoping to get a good look (and a decent photograph). I may be going to Southwater tomorrow or Tuesday. There is still the chance of seeing one, but it is getting less likely by the day.

I couldn't resist it and went back for a wander last Monday. I still didn't see any Purple Emperors but there were plenty of other butterflies about. I am hoping to get a couple of hours in next week, weather permitting, otherwise I guess I will have another winter dreaming of seeing His Majesty!
