Sorry Colin - only just found your reply - I'm really sorry for your wife - its a rotten way for her to find her mum. I had sev times when I was looking after my mam when I couldn't get an answer at the door, and no reply from her when I let myself in and I would creep upstairs and find her in bed - but she was only deeply asleep - but each time my heart would rocket into my throat that she wasn't just sleeping.... All you can do Colin is be around, look after her, don;t get upset if she shoves you away or shouts at you - she has to get the hurt out and it can be long and drawn out process - and the nearest and dearest usually cop for it ....... my husband would tell you that! He suffers at my hands many a time - funnily enough it is part of love to be able to let go with a partner who is big hearted enough to take it and not get upset ........ We're thinking about you ....

Thanks Pauline, we are all very upset, and the wife is distraught. And I feel as much use as a chocolate fire guard.
Regards
Colin

Hello Colin, have just read about your mum in law on the threads - please will you pass on my condolences to your wife. There's never a good time, but some circumstances are more heart-rending than others. You both have our sympathy.

Pauline and Ian
