Not heard much from you for a while? Wondering how you are? Still going to make it to LM in a couple of weeks?

Aha right - pied billed grebe country!! Except that the amazing little bird has done a disappearing act today and I was thinking of coming back to have another session with the camera ....... I used to go to Grassington a lot when I had a motor bike years ago - but since getting a car, plus putting a small caravan on what was dad's pitch, we go that direction trying to get our moneys worth from the van I suppose. Having said that we haven't been to stay for a while - yet last year we went most days off in Nov/Dec cos its quiet - fantastic actually when we are the only people present!

I live South Pennines, near Hollingworth Lake. I know what you mean about heading up to the coast though...we used to go most weekends, now we venture up to the lakes at every op. or the Yorkshire Dales, around Grassington, it's only an hour from here......seen lots of little owls up there amongst other things:-))

Yes I know which one you mean and the statics with the amazing views from the 'front' row - wish I was on there! Well when you say 'over this way much' it depends which way - if its east of Manchester, Buxton, Glossop direction then no cos of negotiating Manchester! The Pennines looses out with me cos its so much easier to go north and be around Silverdale and the Lakes with the added attraction of coastline: that plus I don't walk very far these days - my arthritis is going worse and basically I like to get somewhere and then sit down with the camera and see what happens!! I'm constrained by my weight and I get bigger cos I don't take enough excercise cos the excercise is painful - vicious and circle methinks!

It's a pleasure to accept a new friend, especially one with all your knowledge !! :-)) I think the farm was called Hollins farm, it was really close to the "Knott", down a wiggly lane, so quiet and lovely, and a 5min stroll to the sea, there was a big posh static van site you had to walk thru to get to beach, with amazing statics with veranda's and gardens....... Lovely spot. Been up Warland Moor today, do you every get over this way much as Leigh isn't too far away....?
