Hi Audrey - I spotted earlier that you were thinking of Chanonry and I sighed with a touch of envy!! Enjoy it - hope the dolphins are active! Udale Bay strikes me as an interesting place too ...... Hope you get thro the shopping as fast as poss and then off out for better things! New camera is marvellous - I think I'm in love!!! The weather only came blue here and still very windy gone dinnertime so I couldn't justify going any distance - instead I dashed to the Flash ten mins away and went in Bunting HIde - the feeding station - as usual the sunlight doesn't reach - so I went up to ISO 1600 f5.6 and an 80th of less and it gave results. The 7D wouldn't do that. Really once again I should have taken the big f2.8 400 but its too heavy for me! Yesterday I used the 500 at Martin Mere and today I tried the f5.6 400 with reasonable results for the deep gloom in there!! Have a lovely weekend both of you - the hol is coming nearer at an un-nerving rate of speed!

Hi Pauline,
hope you're getting on with the new camera, I've been watching the thread with interest, looking forward to going green with envy when you come up in March.
Hope your weather is improving, most of our ice has gone, thank goodness, and tomorrow's forecast doesn't look too bad. Bob has a day off and we're going shopping to Inverness, not my favourite thing but we may pop into Chanonry and/or Udale Bay so we may see some sea-birds, and maybe even a Dolphin or two.
Regards, Audrey.

Yes I was quite worried when I didn't get an answer then decided I'd got the dates wrong and you were in the isles while we were in the 'gorms'! I kept watching the forecast and thinking 'oh NO' as I know only too well what its like out there in a gale - just be glad you were in a building as the campervan is the worst place when it gets like that!!! I came back last evening from The Wab Priory Meet in Leics - was a grand do - got pics of grass snake and thoroughly enjoyed the banter! I still haven't caught up with the images from Scotland yet so better have another go for an hour before an early night tonight to make up for some of the sleep deprivation!!!!

Hi Pauline, (part 2)
We're already making plans to go back in July, but at the last minute to be sure of the weather, so we probably won't get the cottage, and will book a hotel or B&B. We can be at Uig on Skye for the ferry in just over 3 hours, so as long as we can get accomodation and ferry bookings we can go pretty quickly once we decide to.
Hope your weather is better than ours, sorry we missed you, glad to hear you're over your virus.
Regards, Audrey.

Hi Pauline, (part1)
Sorry we missed you, my mobile had either been switched off, or something went wrong with it. I actually got your texts when I arrived at the cottage on Benbecula, I tried to reply, but there was no service and the reply failed. The mobile is about 4 years old, so may be on its last legs. I'll email you my home phone number.
The cottage was wonderful, thanks for the information, I'd certainly go there again. The weather was dreadful, we didn't go out at all on the Monday, the wind was lethal, and Wednesday was windy with torrential rain so we stayed in then as well. We saw quite a bit from the cottage though. Most days we drove around using the car as a hide and saw quite a bit from there, as the wind was just too strong to walk in.
As I'm restricted to 1000 characters per message, please see part 2.

Tried phoning several times and texting all to no avail? Perhaps you've changed your number and I still had the old one? Couldn't remember your address - I never kept a note of it when I sent you stuff so couldn't call ........ a pity - I was looking forward to meeting up tho had no intention of giving you a virus to spoil your hols! You will be 'out there now' - the weather has been poor out in the isles if the Scottish forecasts have been anything to go by - hope they are wrong - you will be there now and we are back home safe and sound having left Nethy at 8am this morning. Speak on here perhaps when you return - tho by the time you are coming back I will be getting ready to go!!! Its all go - at last this is what retirement is meant to be about!!!! Have a lovely hol ..........

I think we're bringing the rain with us - apologies for that - well I know rain is now needed but I could have managed another dry fortnight!! I'm feeling rough again this evening - I will give you a bell but it may be wise to postpone a meet in case I'm still not virus free - it seems when I go in the supermarket I can hear lots of folks coughing and spluttering - why we should be getting bugs in decent weather I don't know? Anyhow its been a long day so its bed now!! Speak to you soon!

Hi Pauline, hope you've got over your illness and are packed and ready to get up here this weekend. The weather isn't looking brilliant for the weekend, but I think it will improve. Dragons and Damsels have started appearing, as have butterflies, so plenty to see.
You did send me a booklet about Uist, I've had a good look and it will be really useful. We go on the 21st, and are really looking forward to it.
Give us a bell when you get up here.
Regards, Audrey.

Just come back to this - apologies I'm losing the plot - I know I sent you the info cos I scanned stuff and made a little booklet sort of ......... anyhow was just going to mail you and say we will be up in the Cairngorms this coming Sat - yea ha! Tho I'm not impressed with myself at the min - I've caught Gracie's infection - she might not think so but I do - so last time you had a cold and now I'm full of it - I hope I can shake it off for weekend ...........
