I am a very new member and having seen your photographs I am blown away. Well done.
Is there a way of discovering the camera and the settings you and others use for uploaded shots?.
My wife is a member of flickr and it is so easy to find out this information which she as a novice finds extremely helpful.
The standard of photographs show certainly shows that we have much to learn but despite old age are determined to continue with our interest in photography harnessed as it is to my lifelong interest in all forms of wildlife.
Keep up your good work
Brian. - Thanks for the comment on the butterfly pics.
Still trying to get a better photo of the white admiral though. But I think I may have found where they may have lain their eggs-a nice honeysuckle near the place where I have seen them most. Hopefully may get some fresh specimens to photograph-oops sorry forgot you dont get them up there:)
ellen - Its horible waiting around isnt it? I am doing a waiting game too, though not with my health-my dog Rusty. He has been off colour last week or so and initially put it down to age-slowing up,sleeping more etc.Gut instinct dictated I take him to the vet for a check up.Glad I did as he had a full blood test which shows he has a liver enzyme problem. He is going in for the morning for further tests.Am not to feed him at all and they will take a blood test before and after feeding him a fatty meal, may also have cct scan.
Despite Margaret(vet who is brilliant!)assuring me there is a lot they can do for liver problems,I am always worried about them finding something really nasty that is too far advanced......
Poor ol Rusty cant understand why he hasnt had a bonio-am trying to not look his way ,he has those feed me eyes boring into me... - Am sure you are right-no news is good news eh? Fingers and everything scrossed for you Pauline:)
ellen - Just an update - the gyne doc said she would write to me this week - not heard yet - I take that as a good sign or maybe I'm just bottom of the pile - but I would think that those needing urgent attention cos they've got something nasty growing would hear pretty quick - so again feel its good news. I'm hoping that there's nothing to find and no particular reason as to why my body dug up a few hormones and returned to its younger days ........ pity it can't do the same with my figure and make me look as I did at 18 ............ and return my hair colour ........ and shed a few wrinkles ......... yeah dream on!!

Thanks for the kind comments :-) - Had the examination yesterday ..... they LIED! The letter said the procedure was painless ...... the lying toe-rags! I've never had kids and if its anything like that (and I suspect its worse?!) then I'm not sorry I missed out! Don't us women suffer eh? I thought the mamogram was a thing of torture - but this was far worse ........ it felt like I was being torn apart while a bonfire was raging .......... anyway enough. The doc didn't suddenly stop and say anything like 'My God look at that!' so I take that to mean there was nothing sinister to be seen. I do have polyps tho - well I did - they have been removed for biopsy so its sit back and wait - again .........
- Hi Pauline, thanks for comment on the white admiral pic.Had great fun following it round the wood, was only able to get a few frames before it fluttered away! Feel sure I can get a better shot and will be back to Dodds grove after work sometime this week-only 5 minute walk away!I was tipped off about it being in said wood and when I got there there were 3 others all with cameras ready looking for it!
Sighted 5 in all!!
Anyway how are you, hope everything is ok........ - I leave the site for a few months and what happens ? Chaos Pauline !! Hope all okay for you in the ummmmmm ... chough area ? lol :D Nice to be back, have missed you all xx
- Blimey what a time you've been having! You do bring a smile though in the way you eloquently describe things and never heard of pow-fagged either!! Seriously I hope everything turns out ok with you,am sure it will:) Looks like you had a very eventful hol too, glad you are to return to the islands-is just the sort of distraction you need.Photos are brilliant wish I could take ones such as those!
I am ok,am monitoring the kestrel nest at the moment. There are 3 maybe 4 youngsters almost ready to fledge.Been down after work every day to check whether they are out of the nest yet. Both parents are showing well but the chicks are content to enjoy the view at the nest entrance! Hoping to get some decent shots especially if this weather holds(may turn iffy tomorrow tho)
