No worries Pam. Always happy to help. Yes its a good course to take although my profile is a little old and Ecologist would probrably be a better description for me now (one which is hopeless at plants lol). Sounds like an interesting study he is doing. Does he volunteer? he needs to get into that ASAP to gain experience along with his degree very important indeed. I am in the stage of doing loads of survey work for various parties without actually having a formal job (in the Environmental sector), the current employment market is very hard.

Hi Dogghound, thanks very much for your kind offer with IDs. We are very keen to learn & can spend hours trying to ID things.... mostly incorrectly! (done better the last couple of days though!) We are very grateful to kind folks on here. I notice you are a environmental scientist, interested in freshwater biology. Our son is in his final year at Brum Uni doing environmental science, he went to Abisko Mountain Station last year to study the drift of insects in the glacier melts. He hopes to do his masters this year.
No doubt we will talk again!
Thanks, Pam
