The Malcolm Savill books I read as a boy were about a group of children who used to solve mysteries etc, along the Famous Five lines. The stories were geographically located around Long Mynd and other strangely named places in that area, but whos exact names now have sunk beneath too many years of other information to be able to easily recall. The children used to call to each other with a "peewit" sound, and I can also remember that the descriptions of the countryside were really quite evocative, at least to my mind as a child. I would love to visit it some time in my life - it looks wild and beautiful. :)
