Hi Les
I must visit Anston Stones wood sometime. I often look at it in passing when going to Clumber.
No worries re flash Les. You know me by now :) It's what works best in a given situation plus what you are willing to carry etc.
We'll sort a Sunday out soon ... I'm off on a residential training course next weekend for a week, followed by two weeks in Cornwall, so it will be towards the end of July.
Hi John
Sorry, didn't see you message till now.
I have been using the WAB resource to put latin names to the list of fungi found in Anston Stones.
I had a good two hours yesterday (6 - 8pm) searching in the lesser used area of the Stones. It was quite steep, covered in old moss covered fallen trees. It could be suitable for Morels!
Only found a couple of Large Shrooms, but the slugs had decimated them, so no pics.
Found more Mxymyocetes
Found by the side of the stream, on fallen tree trunk and branches, a large cluster of small shrooms. Will put these on WAB tonight, hopefully.
There has been lots of Dryad Saddles in these woulds for the past month., and Cramp balls are prolific in the wood all year round. Some Oyster appearing on fallen wood that is actually part in the stream.
No offence meant regarding the issue of flash use, but I have found using it to be beneficial for me. Admittedly, it does sometimes misrepresent the colours, but I am begining to think that is only when lighting is good (or when I have not got my set uo correct).
Look forward to our next session. saturdays are not any good for me. I have to be back for shopping and other duties (like gardening). Sundays are better.
Hi John
received your test message.
I think it is unclear how to respond to the message.
I am trying the message box above the message, hoping that is the way.
Had problems lately. My Nikkor lens bust (would not auto focus) so it is back with Nikon. Not that I use the Auto focus that much, but I thought it best to get it fixed.
As I could not be without a Macro lens, I bought a Sigma 150mm. Nice lens, but my 1.4 TC does not fit, nor the T6.
Have been enjoying you Clumber pics recently. It does look like the fungi are emerging now, so look forward to the new season.
Les
