Thanks for the message, sound wonderful, all the best David.
by the way its still there.
G.MCR Great White Egret & Female Hen Harrier, Astley Green by Rindle Rd SJ705975.
Thanks for heads up on the Egret, sorry I didn't reply I was working in the Dordogne. Amazing place for birds (would be better in spring), Black Redstarts flicking round the houses like Sparrows, Crag Martins as common as Swallows are here and Red Kites every time you look to the skies.
Sorry must have got my wires crossed, I thought Judith Smith and Ian McKerchar were part of LOS as well as Manc Birding. I did met some of the Wigan Flashes brigade at the Bird Fair at Martin Mere last year (Don't know names) they were very helpfull, and I used to get Wigan Flashes newsletter, though haven't for some time now, is it still being printed. As to records feel free to copy and paste my blogs to anyone that suits. Yours Morph
Ok Morph i'm with you on that and understand. But same as any recording society who requires varification of sighting i'm afraid its a must, but could be put in another way. Manc Birding nowt to do with us though. All the best David
Hi re-records. From what I've seen on Manchester Birding the areas you've outlined are more than covered. Also Mr McKerchar sounds to me like a big scary headmaster in charge of a lot of school kids.
Quote from MB site :- "Users submitting sightings of county rarities or other species deemed appropriate should be prepared to submit a description to the County Rarities Committee. Persistent failure to submit descriptions of such species may well force me to prevent the user from posting sightings to the forum."
I would rather do my birdwatching my way, without such demands and threats, but thanks anyway.
ever thought of sending your records in to Leigh Ornithological Society, Morph. LOS record birds from all over leigh wigan Bolton areas, and produce Newsletters and annual reports. leighos.org.uk
