    It sounds the same as ours..was always hanging around with just the one canada..was very friendly , would eat from your hand..never knew what sex it was..dont really know the difference between this species..:-)

    Its always the way....Ive been able to find quite a few specimens of fungi in my own back garden...Im sure if we all looked hard enough in time we would find so much more wildlife right on our doorstep..well almost..:-)

    I know it wasn't a KP but I couldn't say what it was, although it looked like it was guessed right, not that I'd know what a Banded Lapwing was.

    Ok Morph i'm with you on that and understand. But same as any recording society who requires varification of sighting i'm afraid its a must, but could be put in another way. Manc Birding nowt to do with us though. All the best David

    ever thought of sending your records in to Leigh Ornithological Society, Morph. LOS record birds from all over leigh wigan Bolton areas, and produce Newsletters and annual reports. leighos.org.uk

Up to disused quarry at Cloughend then along Sandhill Lane taking footpath up to Brown Low burial mound and back again

From Compstall Bridge along the river to Redbrow following circular path through wood back to the river and along the Valley Way back to Compstall Bridge.
Weather:- Some sun with light showers.

Mainly on the canal bank overlooking Scotsmans Flash. Called at feeding station on the way back to the car.
