Hi moozy
Thanks for the update and I'm really glad you had a good time over in the windy and wet west!
I don't get across to the NE as much as I should but I'll take you up on your offer the next time I go.
Your little girl reminds me of my youngest at that age - she looks like a little monkey (in the nicest sense!)

Hello woodman
We had a great holiday thanks to your local knowledge, there so much to do for the family and we are planning to come back very soon, I saw some fantastic wildlife (peregines, included). I hope I can return the favour if your ever in the northeast or the isle of man because thats where mrs moozy's from.

Hi moozy
Prompted to write this as I see your avatar has changed! I recognise that backdrop. Did you enjoy your holiday?

Hi moozy
I know Humphrey Head very well. You'll enjoy a walk there and see some good views across the bay from the top. You can walk from Flookburgh or take the back lane to the beach car park - just be careful of high tides - tell me wehnyou are gong and I'll tell you the times of high water. Walk to the end of the promontory and up to the trig point from the far end.
The nature reserve on Whitbarrow Scar that you'll pass on the A590 just west of Gilpin Bridge, Roudsea Wood NNR at Haverthwaite (5 miles) and loads more. If you let me know what you like to do and see, I'll suggest some locations.
Flounders the chip shop in Flookburgh Square. Buy a copy of retired local fisherman Jack Mannings book "It's Better than Working" if you want a flavour of Flookburgh life.
Cartmel village is a quaint place with tea rooms, cheese and bread shops and the Abbey.
You'll enjoy it.

Hello woodsman, I understand you are the font of all knowledge on all things south lakes,
The moozy clan are heading for flooksburgh for a long weekend ( a well deserved break from the daily grind). Ive done a little bit research on humphrey head and it looks great and will defently visit, but any info on other nearby places would be very welcome.
All the best
Ian and family
