Dear Brian
I seem to have lost the data for your Chetostoma curvinerve specimens! As I am near completing my paper for the Dipterists Digest can you send them again? The basic data are: date, site name, site grid and any comments on habitat etc. Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Laurence , there is a lot of ivy very near where I have seen these flies plus a holly bush. There are some Laurel bushes in nearby gardens but not mine.

Dear Brian
We still don't know what the larval food plants of Chetostoma curvinerve is, but it is likely to be a berry-bearing plant of some kind. Do you also have anything like Cherry Laurel or Ivy in your garden?

Hi Laurence,
I've shot a mating pair of these flies Mar 11th 2007 with a few single shots from Mar 9th to 11th plus another male Sept 19th 2009. All shot in my garden on Rhododendron bushes.

Dear Brian
I see on Flickr that you recorded Chetostoma curvinerve last year. As I am compiling a paper on the occurrence of this species in Britain I wounder if you would provide details.
Thanks
