Yes it's really frustrating. Sometimes here they leave deliveries with neighbours, but that can be problematic if the neighbours are being a bit dodgy.
Wasn't at work all day. Will help the OH with his tests now.
Hope you get your delivery soon.

Have you been on our foray yet?
Went an 8 mile run with the OH today. Feel much better - so that's all I need to do. :-O (Knackered).

I'm back from volunteering after only two hours of work. One hour total in travelling. So that was better.

Quiet bunch, dedicated. Not annoying and no one shouted at us. I knew in advance to do exactly as I'm told, having been shouted at many times before. But the leader was nothing like the other one.

He had some tools. But I relied on mine and secateurs borrowed from the only other lady there. I worked with her, and there were 4 others (men) apart from us. A nice amount of space between volunteers. No silly tea party in the middle either. I just took a drink with me.

I was invited back next month, so really pleased nothing went wrong. It was very slippery, and the water is a reservoir, so damned deep, with a steep bank. It went over my wellies, and I nearly fell in. Glad I'm still quite agile. All part of the fun. LOL

Anyway, just wanted to let you know it went well as you are always supportive. x

Ha,ha, that sort of behaviou r means an intelligent animal, according to our vet. Having trouble replying as on phone. Cat seems better but scaring looks sore. At work atm.

Sad about David. Yes indeed.

How's the flu?

Next week with be the first time I go. Will let you know.
Have lots of sleep and hot water bottles and hot drinks even when you don't feel like them. Sweat it out. I make a hot drink with garlic, Manuka honey and lemon juice which sees off most colds I've had (not sure about flu). Hope you feel better soon. x

I'm just taking loppers as he asked for shears and loppers, but said he had some tools. Not worried about the tools. I am however worried about Weil's disease, and so I will have to makes sure I have bacteriological wipes if I take a snack, which I will as I have no idea how long this will go on for. Eeyore made it sound easy, but I have looked, and most volunteering opportunities are rubbish. Unless you fancy a weekend away with ALF types with chips on their shoulders (erm, no ta) or working in a grotty inner city site that is a glorified garden, or filled with dead people and well-meaning living ones that are there to "prove they care" rather than work. Tools are the least of my worries.
How's you? Have you recovered yet? How's the flu?

Sounds fantastic - yes, go back. What was the food like? Did you have to eat soup?

You are one lucky lady to go there. What an experience. Did you have a hairdryer though? LOL

Hope hubby enjoyed it too.

Travelling takes it out of you anyway. Curl up and look after yourself for a bit. It'll take a few days I imagine.
