Ok as an 'aide memoire' try a little card with these on: Colourful scene - change to vivid - Blue Scene - change to Sunlight - Autumn colours, fungi, brown birds, brown animals - change to Cloudy. Check your results on the rear screen as you go and if not sure and there is time try both and compare later on the comp until you get a feel for what will work and what won;t. New buildings lots of glass prob best on sunny - old buildings warm tones - turn to cloudy etc. Judge by eye the scene you are thinking of taking and then get the camera to represent it as faithfully as your eyes saw it! Have fun!

That sounds like a very reasonable choice - light enough - you don;t need too sturdy as you arn't using prime lenses (yet!) it should be light enough to make you want to carry and use it in most conditions as it will earn you shots that will be better than trying hand held!!! It sounds as tho its pretty low like mine and the legs do splay out flat like mine - I suspect mine might be a smideon lower cos the cobblin I;ve done in cutting central column and using a spare Benbo ball head from the broken Benbo (the one that dropped Ians 20D into the River Hayle a few years back .... oops!) hi there ,i'm really good these days, i'm sleeping well ,and eating well too. i get a bit of pain in the morning though ,but it soon goes with movement. one bad thing is my wee scooters broke so i'm confined to the house .we'll need to get a craic going soon ! you must be due visit to scotland again!

Velbon - Sherpa+ Features This is so you can see the features then just find who is selling it at a price you want to pay! This would be my second choice if the £166 one exactly like mine is not a new one - but it doesn't say second hand so perhaps they have got hold of some stock from somewhere? I wish mine had been that price!!!! Good luck - I'm off up to bed now to watch Frozen Planet in HD!!!! Yipee!!

Velbon Sherpa Pro CF-530 EL with PH-157Q Head Just found this - its same as mine and only £166 don;t know if its new or not?? I've looked a second time and can't tell if its new or not but its a deal - whether its too good to be true I don't know - but its like mine so carbon fibre and a doddle to carry - phone and ask them if its new or not??
