Good memory Elaine, I wasn't doing bad with John Thomas, flipin 'eck..............umm.
I was actually born in Burton but spent all my early days living in Blackfordby a couple of miles from Ashby- de-la-Zouch. My early working life was spent around the Burton, Derby and Lichfield areas. Most of my relatives are living in Burton but my sister who I visit often lives in Castle Donnington, so get to go round Calke Abbey dog walking, Bradgate Park and the like.
Of up there soon thinking about it :-)

On phone 2 day so can't reply to PM but PMSL. Will wait for an update.

My wonderful Zeiss bins are knackered and will prob. spend rest of my hol. sorting them. We took a long trip and I needed them and they let me down. Ahhhh.

Hi Kayleigh, I'm back from over the water but sadly, didn't get chance to visit the places that I wanted to do a bit of bird photography. I did get a few photos although nothing unusal for Brazil. They're on my blog if you're interested - Bungling Birder

They couldn't push the cameras everywhere (she has a narrowing somewhere or other), so they did a scan, today because she asked so as to get it over with. So that was about 6 hours in the hospital, as one of the scanners wasn't working, so there was a queue. I think that was the right decision as she can relax now. All the camera results were OK. She will get the scan results later. I am quite relieved and impressed that everything has been done so quickly and thoroughly. She is relieved that there was nothing obvious.

The doctors still have to find out why she is anaemic. But obviously we are all happier this afternoon.

Paula has a camera up and a camera down today. They are taking things seriously and investigating quickly. Fingers crossed. I'm sick of the sight of hospitals, so I can imagine what she feels like.

I did my pond last summer it was bad - almost dried up and black, sadly neglected which isn't like me.... OK now though, plenty of frogs :)

Yes turned out to be a good night and we found plenty of pipistrelles. Not sure if any more are going on this year now but always next year! Luckily for us we had no rain, but sorry to hear you had to cancel :(
