Hi ther Jim...Made my way over to Potters crouch plantation earlier today...Lovely mixed woodland ..but a little on the dry side at the moment for fungi..still found a few new finds for me though..Maybe after a little more rain the fungi will make an appearance.. :-)

Interesting link. I wonder how long the horse team will be working in Bricket Wood? I wouldn't mind seeing them at work.

Ive been looking also..but with no luck..I was able to find a little bit about it online from a copy of the St Albans & Harpenden reveiw..

Hi ther..spent most of saturday over at Ashridge..then busy riding on sunday ..thought i might go over to Potters crouch plantation tomorrow some time..hope i dont get lost..coming in from chiswel green area..:-)

I don't Gobions Wood, but know Ashridge fairly well. I haven't been to Potters Crouch plantation for a couple of year, but recall that it was great for fungi - though I'm not a 'fungi person'.

Whippendell Wood in Watford is notable for having the only record in Britain of Crepidotus cinnabarinus, which is also only the fourth European record:

If you want to know more about Whippendell Wood it's only 20mins walk from me, so I can advise you where to park etc..
