- 03-12-2008 12:20 PM - permalinkLancashire LadHi JennyS, I'm glad to know that you're not upset regarding the S100. I've just had a google for the Nikon P6000, and it looks like a very impressive compact indeed. If that one feels right to you it should produce some really good results. Regards Mike.
- Hi Ken and Mike,
I'm afraid I'm no help with your flower Ken, but lichen have got me hooked - a whole new magical micro-world but learning the descriptive terms will be a challenge!
The lichen photos were with much-loved Fuji F31 and my youngest son is about to get the S100 - its a really nice camera and will encourage his budding interest and skill in photography but I found it was too big to bring with me all the time. The money that should have fixed my car and roof have got me the Nikon P6000.....! Its going to take me quite some time to learn how to do it justice but will be well worth the learning.
Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the S100 Mike as it feels like the right thing for my son - no embarrassment needed! - Hi Jenny, you lichen fiend you - good luck with them.
Great wet area down there for them too - I remember tramping through Glengarriff woods for the Kerry slug, sadly without any joy!
Can you have a look at 'still going' thread for my post, I should have put it as a new post query I think, but you may well be able to help, if you dont mind.
Thanks a lot, Ken. - 02-12-2008 05:11 PM - permalinkLancashire LadHi JennyS, Have been looking at your lichen pics, and was just wondering if you are becoming any happier with your S100FS? or whether you think it wasn't worth the outlay? (I'm still feeling somewhat embarrased at pointing you in that direction with my praise of the S9600). Regards Mike.
- Hi Jenny :) I only have half a dozen pix in my Gallery taken with the Finepix E550, haven't had chance to upload much so far! Anyway, all the flower close-ups, apart from the wild rose, were taken with the E550 (no lens attatchment) on macro setting. I do have a telephoto lens attachment for it though, which just gives that added flexibility - I also found the lens attachment great for taking close-ups, from a distance (if that makes sense!) of things like butterflies that will flit off if you try and get to close to them, which you would have to if you use the built in lens, on macro setting. I've just uploaded a picture of a comma butterfly that I took using the telephoto lens, just so you can see how it comes out :)
- Jenny,
always impressed by your flower knowledge, so sent a friend request! Any friend of Lancashire Lad and all that too!
Also, Can you check out a thread today by Zoundz, for an Ireland contact if you want to?
Cheers
Ken - 08-11-2008 01:03 PM - permalinkLancashire LadThanks JennyS - I always appreciate your knowledgable ID'ing on wild flowers.
