Hi Paul, am better than I was last wekk-had stomach bug of some sort but feel better now.Have been keeping an eye on the kestrels at the castle. They were displaying last Sunday and he was feeding her,so think it all looks good!! Having to shorten walk on Saturday morning but plan to make up for it in the afternoon. The other kestrels in the country park looks like they are settling down.I also want to walk Benfleet downs to listen out for the nightingale! Has been heard singing, think I roughly know where it is too!
Still not heard a cuckoo though!
Sunday hopefully will be out early to go through the valley and along the downs. Love this time of year,if you cant get the birds on camera the insects and butterflies are about!!!

You may get some cub photos, have seen them before in the country park, also weasels.Saw a weasel in Piggery Lane,it ran across and ran up the embankment of the reservoir!! They are all over the park but all I usually see is a small red blur-fast and busy little things.Yes we may meet finally on Sunday, lets hope the weather is better than todays!!!

I usually see the foxes to the right as you go down the vally,or heading towards the brow of Sandpit hill. Will keep a closer eye out next time I go down there, sounds like theres quite a few around at the moment!!
