When they were there summer 2008 they were there on and off all day. Sometimes flying off, but always returning. Although, I always reckon early morn is best for birds. Happy hunting.

Ace! thanks for letting me know Chris. Might have a look tomorrow see if they are still there, is there any particular time of day that is best to see them?
-
How do James. Just letting you know, there have been up to twenty crossbills by the car-park at Binn Green for the last couple of days. The last time they were there they were very confiding.

Somewhere around 10.30- 11, was seen all over Europe it was. If there are any clear skies in the next few days there might be still some around, but normally you can only see them until about mid - late July I think.

Hi Chris, did you by any chance see the noctilucent cloud display tonight? it was amazing! I managed to take some photos but they are poor and don't do it justice.
-
Thanks Chris :), anyway I must be off now if I'm to get an early start, will report back if I see any thing.

Ah nice one! never seen (or heard) Sedge Warblers. Oh that reminds me, are there any records of Grasshopper Warblers in the area? It's just when I was out on a walk last week I heard a loud sort of grasshopper sound, but much too be big to be an actual grasshopper, I was stumped to think what it could have been.

I walked home from Delph this morning via the Slackcote valley (between Delph and Denshaw). It looks ideal for roe deer, a very quite place. There were a couple of whitethroats and a sedge warbler there this morn.

Hi Chris. Woah that's great, one I've never seen, I wish I'd have been out and about today now lol. NLCs are great aren't they? haven't been looking out for them recently but will see if there are any about tomorrow morning, as I'm up at the crack of dawn going out for a walk to see if I can see Deer!
