So do I, its daunting there are so many brilliant snappers on WAB - I take so many with me little compact, some turn out reasonable though.......I think. Mind you, some people take thousands a day, hmmmm, not me, I'd be on the PC all day sorting, not my style, I'd rather be out there.

yeah, youre right James - just keep practising, now we are digital, cost nothing!
Enjoyed the Saddleworth show too, complete with grandkids etc, but although the Falconry is a great sight, I have reservations when theres so much noise to upset the birds. its a balance I guess between saving/rescuing birds including when/if they can be released with enthusing lots of people about birds........

I bet you look even cuter with a pink forehead, lol! ;) I'm so pleased the day went off well for you ,James! Great stuff! Funnily enough, my eldest was sick yesterday. His was not a result of eating too much, it was because he went on just one ride too many at the local funfair! Bless! Hi James, 2 things!
1 - spoke to the RSPB bods at Saddleworth show today - they are curently looking to recruit for dovestones reserve.
2 - that damsel fly, just lucky really, on the way from picking up saturdays papers in the village - BUT! a/ I always take my camera and sometimes bins, and b/ I ALWAYS keep my eyes open and explore nooks and crannies - its just having a good eye for nature built up over many years I guess - my wife gets a bit fed up when I keep stopping for nature stuff, but it rubs off and shes quite good at spotting things these days herself. I lead some walks from time to time and besides experience from being an old git, that hones you to watch so you can enthuse others too.
I dont always know what I've seen, so WAB is brill for ID's and that.
And go slow.
