Evening all. (that rather dates me)
I have discovered as I gallop towards my twilight years that a little tart does not quicken my heart as it used to in my dimly remembered youth !!!
As a consequence, while I sit at the garden table with my evening cuppa alfresco and my occasional hat-full of ripe,red gooseberries, I find it preferable to suck the sweet insides out of these fruits and discard the skins, lobbing them in the general direction of the flower-beds for passing vagrant...

This is the quiet time, around noon. A couple of young blue tits(not quite in their colours yet). A couple of coal tits, getting quite brave these days. A few great tits and a solitary wood pigeon picking over the spillage under the feeders.
Caught a young female blackbird yesterday evening and earlier this morning pinching a few of the remaining white/green gooseberries. No-one, bar myself, seems to be interested in the thick-skinned red gooseberries(wish I could remember the variety)....

It's Monday,the weather's vile and work sucks.I've been trying to cheer myself up by going through my old photo files stashed,and mostly,forgotten in odd biscuit tins and tupperwares.One dongle I found must've been stepped on at some point because it was nearly flat. Amazingly it still yielded forth recognisable images! Unfortunately they had been taken by a very basic old digicam which I remember my Mum winning in a crossword comp or somesuch and,though evocative,were of no technical merit whatsoever.I...

Sunday 7th November 2010.
Lately have been visiting a small loch,Lairds Loch, a few miles from Dundee on the Coupar Angus road.Its about 400 metres in length and a couple of hundred metres wide surrounded mostly by pine woods but with a good proportion of mixed deciduous trees and low brush thrown in for variety. The surrounding area rises fairly steeply in the form of three hills with a varying steepness of approach with good views of moorland and low scrub.The Loch is visited fairly...
