Hi Ian, Thanks for the comment on the Purple Hairstreak. Good to know you have large numbers it's not been a good year for butterflies. These are common but often overlooked especially on butterfly transect walks. I always have a pair of bin's to look up in the trees where I know they exist. Great stuff.

Hi Ian. hope your ok!!! haven't seen any posts of late, went to Cossington garden NR. Leicestershire..
yesterday with two freinds to see the Short eared owl and the Barn owl. two S.E.O were
spresent, also the Barn owl showed twice. these birds have been showing well for over two
weeks, hope you get a chance to get over there if you already haven't been, see you soon,
regards Bryan.
There are two Spoonbills there at the moment Ian. an adult and a juvinile (pinkish bill), how long they will stay will depend on the weather but last year they were there until mid- March, so they should be around for another six weeks or so with luck.
I'm begining to think that folks have been on my friendship list and then fallen off somewhere way back in the dark! I'm joking of course - but its amazing me when I look and think someone is on there and then I find they are not - anyway have remedied now and sent a request - one of these times I reckon I will send and someone might come back and say 'clear off yer gobby mare' just for a change!!! Hahahaha!
