- 20-05-2009 08:29 PM - permalinkearthdragon64Congratulations, I hope you have a great day and that the weather is kind. We'll be travelling back from Tiree that day, but we'll raise a glass when we get home.
Bob and I saw some Four-Spots on the wing on Sunday at Uath Lochans, it was a really good day weatherwise, we also saw some Large Reds and a Common Blue. Stephen Corcoran, the Park bio-diversity officer, is organising some Dragonfly events over here and the Braemar side. I can send you a list if you'd be interested. Audrey. - 08-05-2009 01:51 PM - permalinkearthdragon64Are you getting married????
Any weekend in July, or August would suit me, apart from the weekend of Saturday 1st of August, our son is 21 on the 29th July, so we'll be having some kind of celebration that weekend. I'm pretty sure Bob has a couple of weeks off in August, but can't remember which ones. His work have recently changed shift patterns, instead of having 4 shifts on a Saturday, they now have 7, so he'll be working more weekends, but he should be able to arrange a shift swap with enough notice.
I don't have any preference for sites, I don't know what areas need looking at. It would be nice though to record somewhere with little or no records. I've a list somewhere of local squares with no records, I got it from Pat Batty, she might ba able to send you something similar. - 06-05-2009 08:00 PM - permalinkseamusagleannthanks hd i've applied for the two day course on the 27 28 november
- 29-04-2009 05:17 PM - permalinkearthdragon64It would depend on when and where exactly, but we'd certainly be interested. We're going to Tiree for a week in June, which is probably the only time we definitely couldn't manage. Apart from that it's dependant on work and getting time off, although most weekends should be ok.
I don't know Peter Elford, so don't have his contact details, sorry. - 26-04-2009 07:47 PM - permalinkseamusagleannhi there ,been a bit of a start for me,went to derby on an access and safety course,it was really good ,saw a bit of the country ,i'd never been to before. done a nptc course on atv ,now fully qualified (again sigh!!) to operate a quad bike. glen coe now comes under lochaber forest district, still got the same forester though!! and that's about it !! heard a cuckoo the other day so summers in the post!! have a good one!!

Welcome to the Scottish Countryside Rangers Association - 14-10-2008 11:12 AM - permalinkseamusagleannhi there rhoddy control course was very enlightening ,seems our current practice is all wrong and was acctually spreading seed ,nowadays the best method is to mulch every thing ,the heat created by the proccess destroys the seed ,well we learn something new every day!!! i've got a place on the ranger meet at loch lomond in november ,looking forward to it .for the workshops i've choosen ,wildlife crime, effect of wild camping and practical wood land skills ,and for the field visit, water voles ,so it should be ok. hope thing are going well for you, and are having a peaceful autumn .
