- Another pigeon has come down my chimney. He's been in there about 4 days and his tail feathers are all ruffled and black. He is quite lively and flaps a lot, but he can't fly. I took another one to Mrs Tiggywinkles but they picked him up by the legs and lead him off upside down to another room, only to tell me the next day he died. I got the impression as he was not a hedgehog or fox, they weren't interested. Therefore I have decided to try to feed him and help him rehabilitate before letting him go. Do they lose their injured tail feathers and grow new ones? And what do I feed him on? I've left him in cat box with water and seeds. I think he's eaten all the black seeds from the mixture. Unfortunately, I don't have peanuts at this time of night. Does anyone have any suggestions, apart from let him go and leave him to nature overnight? I really would like to help him.
- I saw 2 ducks yesterday that I've never seen before. They were bigger than a mallard, but looked exactly the same as the male, except they were black/dark blue, with the dark green head of a mallard. They also had a dark black/purple chest. Does anyone know what they are? Are these one of these 'domestic mallards' that have been spoken about? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. I've got a photo of it but am not sure how to upload it.
