Hi Gess, We`ve had a nice couple of days in the Wyre forest. (School holidays). Wonderful display of colours. We saw a deer come bounding past, surprisingly quite a few birds & a wonderful Kingfisher! I will catch up on my photos & post some Sun or Mon.

Hi Gess, glad you had a nice day at the chase. We went to the wyre forest a couple of weeks ago, hubby saw one group but they bolted before I saw them! Never heard any bellowing. Sometimes it`s good to take a step back from taking photos & enjoy the day for what it is. A walk in beautiful countryside.
Hi Gess, thanks for the comment on the creek photo.I love walking along the sea wall, especially when you get views like that.Just wish I had audio with photo-the wading birds and gulls make a haunting and evocative soundtrack!!
regards ellen
yes I would. The british wildlife book isnt a definitive guide, but thats impossible and its a bloody nice book anyway! And the RSPB complete birds is the first book I go to when IDing birds. And at those bargin prices why not! :D
Your photos of Cannock Chase are gorgeous - I'd love to go walking there sometime. Friends have told me what a nice area it is, but I've only ever driven past it once or twice and have not yet had the chance to explore it on foot.
