    Sorry about the delayed response - been away in France for a week (and not a mushroom to be found....).

    Anyway, it's actually not me in the photo (sadly), but a farmer on the Mexico / Guatemala border who found this within his crops. The species is Macrocybe titans.

    There are some other remarkable finds of the same species if you search for images of this on t' web.

    Being new to the site, I don't know if you will have seen this sticky on the main fungi forum page, however it is one of the forum rules that we do not directly discuss edibility or otherwise of any specific fungi.

    Hi Jus,

    Just wondering if you have much experience in identifying Panaeolus cinctulus and Psilocybe Cyanescens in and around Milton Keynes, mainly in Brickhill woods?
    Because i now know they do grow around england and im pretty sure i have just walked past these before and just thought they might be a poisonous species and did not give them a second look, have you seen these here?

    Good to meet you too HW - It was a nice walk - Pete and Tigger really know their stuff don't they!

    I will get round to putting up some photos when I get a minute, although I see that there are a lot up already.

    Looking forward to popping back up there in the autumn too, to see what mycorrhizal fungi are growing in association with the rock rose - an interesting departure from the normal woodland associations that one would expect to find.

    No,KT, apparently it was a real one, found by the farmer in the picture on the Mexico / Guatemala border. Not sure of the species though.
