    Hi free spirit,

    Thanks for letting me know. I'm really pleased that you enjoyed my moon pics and am very happy for you to use one as your wallpaper. This year was my first go at photographing the moon and I enjoyed the very different challenge that it presented.

    Clouds permitting I hope to try photographing some of the other phases once the weather gets a bit warmer :).

I was wondering if it were possible to re-introduce a canal system in britain. The positive side would be to put freight back on to the water ways. If new canals are built we may be able to utilise the potential flood areas in this country. In time it would pay for itself, we may be able to build super canals to accommodate britains freight, for example; one barge towing six containers or more. Surley this would be cheaper and cleaner, than driving six lorries to their destination, i know this would...

I was reading Seb Ellis's entry, I agree if you are out and about in the country be still, and nature will show her magic. I used to fish a local pond near my home. there were days I caught nothing but what I saw was amazing. One of the days that I was sat on the bank of the pond, I heard a sound next to me; very slowly I looked down. Wow, the biggest hare I have ever seen was two feet off me having a drink of water. A few weeks ago i introduced five white cloud mountain minnows into a small tank that i set up, this contained a small molly and one large great british water snail. Within two days i was down to two mountain minows, and still one molly. I stripped the internal filter down, i thought that they may have been sucked into the filter. But nothing could be found. So i did a bit of research on the net, wow! I found that the great british water snail is also carniverous. It has been known to catch small...
