Internet on site at our caravan is very hit and miss - well more miss than anything! Must dash - taking Joan (Gracie) to Liverpool Eye Hospital for her post op app this aft.

Thanks Ellen - sometime I hope to take you up on this offer - but don't hold your breath as we are already talking holidays for 2014 and want to be at all ends of the country in the May and June!!!
Should have found this site years ago. I do a lot of butterfly transect walks for butterfly conservation in Dorset so I have a passion for them. Three years back I went to Hungary with my wife on a 3 week all paid trip to help survey 2 butterflies Knapweed Fritillary (Melitaea phoebe)& Melitaea Telona (no common name) which is a new species. Looks like the Knapweed but we were informed the genitals are different. Each butterfly was marked on the wings with a ref no.using a felt pen then when re-caught records were kept to see how far they flew etc. Also bird ringing and bat recoding along with moth trapping, it was a full on trip but rewarding.

Its tormenting when stuff is flighty - you keep seeing it and trying but OFF it goes at great speed! Dragonflies are the worst for this I think - they go out of sight and you've no idea when or if they will come back! We spent the day watching our bird table at the caravan and I spent it on the lappy still trying to get thro the last few from the Cairngorms ....
Yeh they're very good for saying how windy it has been! I've had my macro lens on and ringflash fitted today, it's been horrendous here with showers every 5 mins, I didn't even manage get one photo but I did get very wet. Is it the 90mm you've got as they do a 60 and a 180mm too.
