- Campervan cleaned ......... but not packed - that serious business begins today! We went to the van but were glad to leave last night as the site filled up to burstin! I'm going to upload a pic of cow parsley in a min - perhaps you had better not look!! Sorry couldn't resist - its not funny I know - I sneeze at a lot of things these days and wheeze quite a bit so must be getting slowly allergic to all kinds of things ....... Raining today here which is what was forecast - right better get cracking! Have a nice weekend ellen.
- They are lovely ellen - not a bad shot at all! We saw avocets at Leighton Moss last week. Yes its my cousin Charlie who lives at LeighoS I haven't spoken to him for ages .... I got pics of the osprey locally - it was quite a spectacle and the closest I have been to one despite all Scotland hols! Even the Rutland trip the birds stayed on the far side of the water best viewed by scope! Prepping for the main hols now - well except I haven't - prepped I mean - haven't done anything at all - not even hoover the van from the Feb Cairngorms break - dirty lazy girl! So thats this mornings job - I was hoping we were off to the caravan but there's just too much to do - tho we've promised to go up overnight tonight if we make some headway today ....... I had better go and look busy or he will think I sit here all day when he's at work and actually I haven't been on much at all - honest! Hope you're chest and tubes finally get over that nasty bug ellen ......
- Back from 'beyond'! You don't sound to be having much fun at all.... we got away and its been a good break - it feels like a long time cos we were up every morning at 4 - 5 am and off out 'chasing hawfinches'! I had some success when a friend came to the van for a day's photography - 3 of us couldn't fit in the car and have a window eacdh so Ian stayed on site putting hides up and arranging posts and stuff while 'Crockett' and me went after the hawfinch - he must be blessed as they came closer than ever before and there were no other folks or workers in the grounds about ..... I'm up this morn after only 4 hrs as there is news of an osprey fishing locally sdo I'm going twitching for once!! I don't hold out a lot of hope but you never know!!
- Doesn't sound as tho you're beating the lurgy just yet - hope it goes soon and that the anti-bis don't upset you - you know they do with me - I'm always nervous when I have to take them cos some make me very ill - I'm slowly working my way thro those that I can't be prescribed again ...... Haven't packed a thin and were supposed to be off in the morning .......... hahahaha some hopes - it will be teatime before we get there - I've stopped bothering - we get there when we get there!!! Hope you feeling on top of the world very soon ellen Pxx
- Hope that the 'Barry White' symptoms have gone? Maybe you should have cut a record deal while it was on?! We are off for a week to the caravan on Sunday and predictably I was feeling unwell the other night tho it seems to have passed now .... I hope ..... I haven't had a cold, cough or flu since finishing work - it was the stress from the bosses and the capability threat that was making me ill and this clear spell since finishing has proved it without doubt ... as employers I don't wish them well .... anyhow thats in the past. Hope you are feeling much better and I can imagine you out with Rusty this morning having one of your early morning walks - tho the weather is iffy to say the least!
- ooh heath fritillaries ... on my eventual hit list one of these years! Sorry bout the hay fever - I'm doing more sneezing but I tend to be like this all year - I run a low grade infection in my right cheek sinus ever since closing down a cold/flu with antibis must be 8 years ago now. I could request antiviral antibi but think the 'cure' might leave me worse - I'm such a reactor to everything, drugs, homoeopathy, accupuncture, massage - whatever all resound in my body for good or bad! Glad to hear Rusty doing ok. Also glad to hear that the wildlife is picking up in leaps and bounds. The trees seem to have caught up and leafing well - the blossom is gorgeous and some now coming off like confetti from a big wedding, but its turned cool as they said it would and I've had the heating on for an hour when I got shivvery a bit ago....
- Hi Ellen - been back a few days to appointments and treatments and time flying by. The last break was myself and Gracie and then Rutland to meet a few wabbers. The next break looming up is mine and Ians short spring break at the caravan - with our main hol in the Isles chasing up at the beg of June! I've booked myself a few breaks extra with the carers as I realise this might be the only kind of retirement I get - mam is as fit as a flea except for over active thyroid which is now under control - physically otherwise for 80 she is well and not indanger of wearing out - so I have to get on and live my life as its passing by daily!!! Btw Gracie and I went to the Chinese every night - so no washing up and the food was delicious - I'm aggrvated at myself for not trying it before and sticking to fish and chips all these years - what an idiot I am!!!! Esp as this past 18 months I have gone off fish completely - makes me feel sick - I never expected that to happen - used to love f and c!!
- I can't help but think the atmosphere is better and the weather steadier without flying lumps of metal called planes carving it up! I also think that I feel better for not having stuff flying about above too.... tho that could just be psychological!! Gracie and I are looking forward to going awol without our menfolk for a short spell - we love them dearly and I always miss mine but I think thats the point of a seperation - makes you appreciate each other! Oh dear I will have to do my own washing up ... boo hoo!!!! P xx
- Glad things are not too bad esp for Rusty - he's such a smashing looking dog - character written all over him! I arrived in the 20th century yesterday - I bought a card reader for less than a fiver at Asda! We've been downloading all this time via the Nikon coolpix cameras but a card reader is far faster! I'm one of those folks who works on a need to know basis esp re comps - and my friend Gracie decided I needed to know that card readers were a better way in every way!!!! The same with the explanation about a hard drive with freeview for her digital telly doing away with the need for video or dvd recording - unless of course you want to keep a disc ....... its all mumbo-jumbo to me but I shall look into it! Her and myself are off to the caravan this evening for three days - we both need a break (so does my Ian but he has to work as he keeps telling me!!) Hopefully this weather will last and give us a good couple of days out at Leighton Moss and such like ........
- Oh bless Rusty ....... I wish someone could make me stick to a strict diet ........ ! Glad to hear that you are over the worst of the winter ills and the new laptop should hopefully keep you in touch better. My old comp is struggling cos its just too full of stuff - I got an external hard drive but it doesn;t seem to have made much difference - maybe I haven't done it right?!
