- I don't think I've ever seen the top side before either so well done! I've never been out of this country - saying that there's not many counties left that I haven't been in or to - and most will be the home counties I suspect! Take it steady with your back - its something you don't need to keep upsetting .... I'm off to get showered and dressed - the alarm chappie has just been to service the burglar alarm which went off for no reason a few nights ago - and then its down to mams to take her to the care home for her first spell of respite care ....... wish me luck!! Yesterday we went from 'I;m not going into care' to 'perhaps I will like it and have some company' ...... give me strength!!
- Thats good news re Rusty! Oh hell sorry to her agbout the back - you didn't need that to happen did you? I've gone over on my bad ankle so its back to wearing the support again which is a nuisance as my foot is already swollen from interrupted blood supply all these years - well |I think thats why? Yes August is a rotten month for us too - Ians dad on the 10th (11 years I think) and my dad on the 9th 6 years ago - doesn't time pass? Perhaps next year you willl get to go out to Oz and visit or does it not appeal?! I'm off to bed jiggered - again - I'm going to spend this next hol asleep I reckon!!
- I've got everything crossed ellen that all goes smoothly - if I can make it that way I will!!!! Hows my favourite pooch by the way?
- Thanks ellen - at least they have found a respite bed so we can go. Mam is desperate to go into a home - she actually wants to go - but social services are playing cagey - they want us to find our own place and pay for it and that is prob whats going to happen cos the fight to get anything else is just too much and they know this. Folk prepared to fight are folk who are determined to have something for nothing - those of us who have been doing the job for nothing are worn down and not capable of the fight by the time - like me - they wave the white flag just before going under. Ian needs this break - he's been suffering from listening and watching me go daft ... we may both be stronger when we return .......

- You are very welcome Ellen, it's a fine photo
- 14-07-2010 05:14 PM - permalinkMartin WilsonThanks Ellen I will have a crack down on the Downs if I finish work early enough on the weekend. Thanks for the info.
Martin - Yes I know I'm going away again .... but I can foresee a time when there might be no hols and going places is the only thing I;ve lived for - I don't know quite when the desire to go places arrived but I think my dad might be to 'blame' cos thro my early teens the routine was shop and wash on a Saturday - day out on the scooter (no car then!) on a Sunday ... he'd think nothing of a 350 mile trip round Derbyshire/Yorks/Lake District!! There seems to be a lot of folk about left with nasty persistant tickly coughs after that last virus round so its prob just a left over with your mum too. Yes we had a few grass seeds with the cat - but it was usually in an ear - can be fun with a cat - dogs can bite when upset - but cats bite and scratch - into the pillowcase and tucked under arm with just head showing - then go for it! Better get on with the packing - most of its in the living room just need to make it disappear into the camper ...........
- Wondering how you're doin? Found myself with half an hour to spare this morn! I have an app at the docs for blood an urine tests to do with this pain in my back (an a normal thyroid check) but I'm nil by mouth since last night an would love a cuppa!! Hope all ok with you and mum and Rusty? The living room is filling up again with 'packed things' ready for my next great escape starting Wed - I'm off to the isles for 10 days via Skye leaving mam and Ian behind ........ after needing 3 stiches in my head last month out there I'm wondering if I'm fit to be let loose alone - but until something major happens I shall keep trying .... he says I'm very trying at times!! LOL!!
- You were meant to laugh! Surely a lower enzyme count means the liver isn't having to work so hard so thats a good thing isn't it? Its difficult when pets get older and you have to nurse and guide them thro their declining years - we had the same thing with Sutty our cat who had the feline equivalent of Aids - cats apprently get the virus thro fighting and being bitten - not sex like humans - well as far as anyone can tell - tho I see no reason for the virus to be in all components of a mammal, semen, blood, saliva but perhaps I'm wrong. Anyway we nursed him for 18 months and inbetween viral attacks he was normal and lived a normal very happy life. As for heat - I'm not sorry its broken down here for a spell and we've had rain - tho not enough of it - we're supposed to get more tomorrow .......
