Thanks ellen for replies and concern thro my thread - hope you beat the weather, its rained heavy here in the night and continues in short nasty bursts this morning with a blustery wind I can hear the side gate clanking! So I'm not missing much! Hope you and and mum and Rusty are ok.
thanks ellen - a good hol - but an interesting one at times ................ theres a story there I might get round to telling!! Hope all ok at your end?
Yes I know you have 'all sorts' of goodies down there and I start to salivate just thinking about it ... maybe next year - his nibs and I have to sit down and have a really good wrangle about what we want to try and see next year which will determine how many hols and where ........... could be a big debate this one! Meanwhile I will drool over your lovely pics ellen!!
Yes nice to see cuckoos but can be a difficult bird to get close to ........ some seem born wary or get wary and then every now and one appears that takes absolutely no notice of folks - wish I could drop across one like that - tho the Mull bird wasn;t too bothered about us but we just couldn't get any nearer.
Yes I can and I would like to!! Yes I get up to watch too! But I didn't know you could be struck thro the window - that wouldn't be good esp as in the night I would be naked and no rubber bottomed shoes on either!!
Blimey that was close-can you imagine what it would be like chasing a tornado in U.S??
Just turned radio on to M.W.and its crackling like anything so someone somewhere is getting a storm!!If we have one tonight I cant help myself and just have to get up to watch the lightning-mind you I watched a programme on thunderstorms and they said that you can be struck by lightning thru glass!!
In fact the last storm I chased a couple or three years ago now probably I very nearly came to grief with it ...... I jumped in the car and headed off towards M/cr and ran into deep flooding on the East Lancs Rd - I got thro that and should have taken that as a warning and didn't. I chased this storm up the M62 towards the Pennines and into the Craven Valley around Todmorden, Rawtenstall and Bacup - north from M/cr towards Yorks and one of the towns was having flash floods - its was just like you see on the telly - except I was stupidly there, I know the area but not enough to get around flooding like that and the police were closing the town off - when I made a break for high ground I was on the only road left open ....... it was scary and silly and a pity I didn't have the camera with me - I wanted to scare myself and I succeeded!!!
Snap!! I would be a storm chaser too-love a storm til it gets a bit too close for comfort....just looked outside and it looks ominously dark towards Kent but here its still relatively clear! Still got a "funny"head so dont know if we will get a storm later
