- Good to hear you are getting along ok and Rusty too bless him.You should see me get up and walk off sometimes - I'm bent over and have to remind myself I'm not 90 yet and to straighten up for goodness sake! When its painful you get into the habit of being bent and then I reckon it becomes the norm and before you know where you are you can't straighten!!
- 21-08-2011 03:54 PM - permalinkDeb LondonIt sounds right up my street Ellen. I'm not sure if there is a group local to me though. But I certainly would try and get involved if the opportunity arose.
Thanks :-) - Can't get into live messaging - had three goes at joining and it keeps refusing - I've tried three separate names for myself and still no success - I musn't be in the mood? It won't accept my password - I must have confused it! When I'm feeling patient I will have another go - the trouble is I've now got these addresses used up and still it won't work ...... I can't cope with it at the min!
- Now thats something to look forward to - not that I've ever used live chat - I wouldn't know whether it uses a microphone and you actually see someone speak (tho I've seen it done on the telly) or whether you watch each other type?!! I really am a novice at this but I had some fun mugging at it this morning!!!
- Well usually its cos they want to throw lots of larger down on top it was my observation!
- No I'm no fan of very hot spicy stuff - I like to taste what else is in the meal not just chillies! Ian won't eat anything hot or spicy - he's always watching when I'm cooking in case I put too much of anything in - he doesn't even like herbs sprinkled on anything - I love oregano on tomato in sandwiches - he starts spitting like he's got a feather on his moustache and asking what the hell have I put on his sarnies!!!!
- I am sure you will start to be able eat soon-little by little is the key I expect...must say its been interesting reading regarding the foods etc that can affect the gut in such drastic ways.I always think the health problems in modern man is largely due to all the synthetic garbage we unknowingly digest.Even when trying to eat healthily we must eat stuff thats probably leached into our food via the packaging etc, like plastic bottles affecting the water it contains!!
Suppose its a good excuse to grow more veggies and fruit in the garden eh?Possibly a couple of chickhens lol!! - Love it ellen! Poomg - yes its got a ring to it! My cousin Alistair (who has been very ill with Crohns) is nick-named Dr Bowel cos there isn't much he now doesn't know about the subject and how to work around it! I'm still not out of the woods - I can't seem to get back to eating without the pain and don't know whether to continue eating or whether to keep on backing off it - I suppose this is what its like at this stage ....
- If you are 'regular' ellen you probably don't need it and it might lead to 'running'. But a wineglassful at bedtime (clean your teeth after it is sweet!) or perhaps even better a wake-up small glass at breakfast could be a nice way to bounce into the day. I don;t know what they sell in the supermarket by way of prune juice - and some s/markets do have healthy brands in - Waitrose I notice did stock a lot of good stuff but I don't know about now. My point is prune juice in asda if they do it might be a commercial brand full of sugar - the nice one is from the health food shop - mine is Rabenhorst.
- If you like a thicky syrupy fruity sweet tast that I can't quite describe - it isn;t sickly sweet - well not to me - but then I've been without food for two weeks (barring the few mouthfuls in hospital and the leek and Potato soup) so my mouth is tasting things as is - even the apple juice which I used to find 'tart' is sweet and pleasant - the trick to it is not to have any form of sugar - then things taste properly - so yes I'm finding it delicious to almost addictive!!
