Planning to take step-by-step photos and will post a thread hopefully.
We have a lot of Smooth Newts (they breed in the garden pond). We had Common Frogs last year too, they tried to breed but I think the newts may have eaten all the tadpoles. The GCNs are in the local nature reserve and if I have success, I'll try and 'sell' the design. :-P
I've started digging my garden newt refuge, but it will be a lot smaller. Maybe 1/4 the area on the plan, and only 1/2 the height or less. Is this still a worthwhile project do you think? I have a good place and it ticks all the right boxes, but space is limited unless I redesign the garden.
hi dan...
looked on the herts bird club website... and c30 waxwing in abbouts langley , which is 5 mins from my house .. im off friday so hope to have a wander...
hi, i was wondering if you would help me ID some caterpillars.
both are hairless, one is green and one is yellow, both have a single stripe on both sides, the green one has little rings in its stripe, the other does not.
i will find out wat the green one is as it is a pupa now but the yellow one died sadly.
