I'm a relatively young chap Ken (37), but in my early suppin' days we used to walk up to the Tup via Ogden, where they still served Old Peculiar from the jug. We'd finish up the Denshaw pubs before staggering home in a right state over Huddersfield Road, past the Moorcock. These days it's more of a restaurant, but you can still get a decent pint.

And the same to you Chris, enjoy the snow before its dirty slush!
Supposed to have a wet in the railway sunday, that was snowed off ...........I remeber the Rams head from about the late 60's on - gravity fed beer straight from the barrel to the jug, they used to swirl it round to get a head, never did!
Merry Christmas!

How do Ken. Just popped on for the first time in a few days. Not bad snow locally at the moment eh? Might go for a yomp up to th' Owd Tup' (Ram's Head) for a pint or two before it melts if I get chance.
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

How do Ken. Don't get on here much these days. Hope you're okay. Like the picture in the ale-house. Which one was this one taken in?

I almost did say summat, but thought I might look a bit of a haybag if it wasn't you! Glad you are inputting to the R.S.P.B, we don't want them messing it all up. I'd gone over the moors hoping to get a photo of a mountain hare, or even a snow bunting (saw one on the edges about ten years ago), but saw little of interest. Not an enjoyable walk really. I had a bad cold, my pack seemed to weigh a ton and my boots were hurting! Moan, moan, moan.

I was with dave O'hara, RSPB Dovestones reserve boss/warden, giving input to the diversity and some fungi and some ideas so they dont ruin it without our awareness etc etc..............What a shame!
Took us 3hrs to walk round, lots of good stuff.

I agree, it can be useful. Ta again. I think I've just managed to post the following on my own page???, but my pal who is the regular watcher up Ogden and Piethorne had a 'ring-tail' hen harrier up Wicken Hall this morning. Right on my doorstep and I was stuck in work. Gutted!.
