Hi Pauline. Well things are pretty bad at the moment. My mother was admitted to a physiatric hospital two weeks ago with dementia. The hospital was 25 miles away and the weather has made it difficult to visit. Luckily she was transferred to a local hospital a couple of miles away from me.
It’s really hard hearing my mother saying things she would never normally say and she is also delusional, seeing and imagining things. The doctor told me today that it could take months to assess her and then she will probably have to go into a home.
At least the weather has eased up and I am able to get out with my camera although I don’t take many photographs it’s more a chance to enjoy the peace and solitude and take my mind off things.
One bit of good news is that a male Blackcap visited the garden today, a first for my garden.
Always nice to here from you and hope you and your family are OK.
All the best.

Hello Dai - how are you? I was just thinking about you when I noticed you were online .... everything ok I hope? Ian has gone out to bring his mam home from hospital (she was rushed in on boxing morning, kept for 3 days, sent out, did 10 days at home only to be rushed back in again, now they're sending her home again ......) I've just taken my mam home after her spending the afternoon with me - she's not been for 10 days while the snow has been bad cos I wouldn't drive in it. Talking of snow its trying again here but only half a centimetre thank goodness - I'm sick of it now and want it gone so I can get on with things in comfort!

Happy New Year when it arrives tonight Dai - may 2010 bring us health, not too much stress with in laws and outlaws! and lots of photographic opportunity and wildlife watching time ........

Oh I'm right in step with you there - absolutely - patience? I never knew I had so much of it - or rather I ball my fists and tell myself to stop shouting as I'm not helping the situation - neither is the headache and near stroke I have every time I have to deal with her ...... and your shoulder is prob like my headache - a consequence of supressed stress and frustration ......... take it easy matey - I'm thinking about you too and sending 'hugging' vibes to ward off some of the stress!!
