Thanks for the tips, Elaine .. I can see one or two feeders in neighbours gardens but not sure if they are being topped up, also their are a couple of bags of nuts hanging on a birch in the garden behind me that look as though they have been there for years, so the birds probably not bothering if food isn't fresh. Don't think the previous owner here fed the birds, so you're right, will take a little while for them to twig. They do have a bit of shelter with the birch overhanging, but I think you might be right in that they need some thick or spikey bushes to dive into .. don't have any of those at the moment, so will have to try and squeeze something in! (Only got a tiny garden here!) Saw one bluetit on the feeder briefly this morning, so that's a start, but guess I need to be patient .. cheers, Elaine :)

Hi Jan,
I was wondering about your lack of bird activity..I didn't want to hijack the thread.
Do your neighbours feed the birds as this tends to help to bring them in.
Did the people who lived there before feed the birds as if they didn't it will take the birds a while come in.
Think of something spiky where they can roost in safety, the birds live in my garden but if there is nowhere for them to roost they will not stay in the area.
Just a few things to consider..

Hi Jan, thank you for the comment on the sunset thread..
The sky came out darker than I thought giving the pic depth.

I am going now just putting my trainers on...
I hate big ones too...:D
yep in Derby they don't know what a tesco is lol we had Asda and Sainburys much better.

(I still haven't managed it yet ..!)
Oh, I hate our big Tescos .. it's so bluddy big they have to have large vehicles they drive around in and collect all the trolleys together! Always have to park right down the end of the car park, so about a mile walk to get in there .. and sometimes only want a flippin loaf of bread and a pint of milk! Shouldn't really be moaning .. I could always nip into my local Tesco Express (I *hate* Tesco Express's!! Tesco is taking over the world, I reckon .. !! :))

you got me in stitches here lol..
I was going to do the same it will take a while though.
No big supermarkets here just little ones...back and beyond we are here..

Oh, I know the lens you mean .. I saw Jason's thread about it .. I used to have one of the for my last camera, great fun to play around with and got some good results. Haven't got them now though as they don't fit my new camera, so I sold them with my old one. Might think about getting another one when I get around to it!
