    Well, so far I've found the batteries to behave a little strange. I was using the video the other day and it told me they were about to give up the ghost. So I turned the camera off and headed home. Yet back home I switched the camera back on and the display read three full bars again?? Anyway, cheers for the Ebay link. They are miles cheaper than I thought.

    yeh I agree mate, shed loads of functions but I'm pretty used to the Canon set up now. I'll await to see your results, have a look at those batteries though, I've got five, bought two lots of ebay and the one it came with but I'm doing a lot of HDR work with mine, you'd probably not need as many

    No pics posted yet. I've just been messing about with it as yet. It has considerably more features than my other compact (a Nikon with many years of good service), so there is much to fathom out. The macro on it is very pleasing too.

    Yeh same camera in all other aspects as you're aware. Pretty good eh, I find the metering takes a bit of figuring out to get it 'just right' when manual shooting, but image quality is the usual A1 standard when canon hits the mark, much like my G11 (amazing camera).
    So have you put any pics on here yet?

    Never mind about the welders glass. You could always use it to view the next eclipse! I bought the camera the other day and am well impressed. It's great for videoing the kids too.

    Cheapest I've found it for a 77mm is 89.00, one piece of glass, I ask you!
    You wait til you see my welding glass photo's (you'll proabably laugh youre ar$e off!)

    5th June, same as the Diamond Jubilee. I wonder if that's a good sign? I don't think I'm going to handle it well. I don't like ages that are multiples of five!
    By the way, how much is the filter?
