Alas I missed your return message Chazz, so didn't go fossil hunting. Had a great time on Skye however. Did plenty of mountain and coastal walking, saw Golden and Sea Eagles and had a spot of successful fishing off the jetty at Staffin. Great place.
Hi there Chris. Sorry but I have only just got your message. I didnt know what it would be like, but the fossils are just lying about on the beach among the rocks. I'm not into fossils much, but went there to collect a few for a mate. I kept a few too. The scenery around Floddigarry is excellent.
Hope this helps. Cheers Chaz
Just been reading your posts about your trip to the west coast of Scotland and noted your mention of fossil hunting at Floddigary on Skye. Well, I am staying up by Staffin Bay and was just wondering what the fossil hunting is like? I don't hammer rocks anymore and was really wondering if it is easy to collect fossils from loose material?
I have left this post late and go on Saturday, so I might not get your response!
